I teach courses and conduct research related to Motor Behavior, the study of four related but distinct areas, namely: Physical Growth and Motor Development, Motor Learning, Motor Control, and Adapted Physical Activity. I was previously a physical educator in a large urban school division for 15 years, and for one year was a physical education consultant at the Manitoba Department of Education. I have observed and established motor skills programs for numerous children, youth, and adults, with various abilities and disabilities. My pedagogical interests relate to the observation, assessment, instruction, acquisition, and performance of basic movement and sport skills, Inclusive Physical Education, and Developmental Coordination Disorder (physical awkwardness).
